About this place
Step off the Harajuku streets into an alleyway and walk up the stairs to the 3rd floor of the building, where a calm space sits slightly removed from the bustle outside. While it carries the identity of a bar, bar dAZE proves just as dependable for substantial meals starting before noon.
A natural place to start is the acclaimed katsu curry. Alongside the hearty base plate topped with crisp cutlet, variations include katsu curry with melted cheese and an omelette-topped ome-katsu curry, tailoring each plate to personal taste. The broader Western-style menu provides plenty of reasons to return, from the robust bite of the ultra-coarsely ground hamburg steak to rich demi-glace omurice and taco rice.
When it is time for a drink, the counter offers Japanese whiskies such as Yamazaki, Hakushu, and Yoichi, alongside draft beer, wine, and cocktails. Cafe staples like coffee and cafe lattes are also available, making it easy to settle in at your own pace whether you are stopping by for lunch or lingering late into the night.
